Phytophthora Ramorum

Barnswood is currently working with DEFRA to eliminate the plant disease Phytophthora Ramorum which is currently affecting all our Rhododendrons and some of our silver birches (but can affect other shrubs and trees).

How does this affect your visit to Barnswood?

Barnswood is open as usual whilst working with DEFRA but until we have removed all the affected rhododendrons and trees you are required by DEFRA to wash all mud debris off your footwear/tent pegs and use the spray provided on the soles of your footwear at the entrance/exit of the site as you leave. This will prevent it spreading to your own gardens and other venues. Please note this disease is spreading throughout the UK so please follow the above guidance to prevent it spreading to our beautiful woodlands.
